Pergráta mundo núntiat
auróra solis spícula,
res et colóre véstiens
iam cuncta dat nitéscere.
Qui sol per ævum prǽnites,
o Christe, nobis vívidus,
ad te canéntes vértimur,
te gestiéntes pérfrui.
Tu Patris es sciéntia
Verbúmque per quod ómnia
miro refúlgent órdine
mentésque nostras áttrahunt.
Da lucis ut nos fílii
sic ambulémus ímpigri,
ut Patris usque grátiam

Sincéra præsta ut prófluant
ex ore nostro iúgiter,
et veritátis dúlcibus
ut excitémur gáudiis.
Sit, Christe, rex piíssime,
tibi Patríque glória
cum Spíritu Paráclito,
in sempitérna sǽcula. Amen.

O Christ, the Light of heaven
And of the world true Light,
You come in all your radiance
To cleave the web of night.
May what is false within us
Before your truth give way,
That we may live untroubled,
With quiet hearts this day.
May steadfast faith sustain us,
And hope made firm in you;
The love that we have wasted,
O God of love, renew.
Blest Trinity we praise you
In whom our quest will cease;
Keep us with you for ever
In happiness and peace.

Deus castigans et salvans
Exaltáte Regem sæculórum in opéribus vestris.
2Benedíctus Deus vivens in ævum,†
et regnum illíus,*
quia ipse flagéllat et miserétur,
dedúcit usque ad ínferos deórsum†
et redúcit a perditióne maiestáte sua,*
et non est qui effúgiat manum eius.
3Confitémini illi, fílii Israel, coram natiónibus,†
quia ipse dispérsit vos in illis*
in toto corde vestro et in tota ánima vestra,*
ut faciátis coram illo veritátem,
tunc revertétur ad vos*
et non abscóndet a vobis fáciem suam ámplius.
Et nunc aspícite, quæ fecit vobíscum,*
et confitémini illi in toto ore vestro.
Benedícite Dóminum iustítiæ*
et exaltáte regem sæculórum.
Ego in terra captivitátis meæ confíteor illi*

God punishes and God savesPraise the king of the ages in all your deeds.
Blessed be God who lives for ever,
whose kingdom is eternal:
for he both punishes and takes pity,
he leads down to the underworld,
and rescues from perdition;
no one can escape him.
Give thanks to him before all nations, children of Israel:
he scattered you among them,
and there he has made known his greatness.
Give glory to him before all who live:
he is our Lord, our father,
and our God for ever.
He will punish you for your transgressions;
but he will take pity on all your sufferings,
and gather you together from all the nations
among whom he scattered you.
If you turn back to him
with all your heart and soul
– if you keep faithful to him –
he will turn back to you
and hide his face no longer.
So now look at what he has done with you,
and praise him with all your might.
Bless the Lord of justice,
and glorify the eternal King.
In the land of my captivity I trust in him;
I show his power and majesty to the sinful people.
Turn back, sinners,
and be upright in his presence
– perhaps he will forgive you and show you his favour.
I will rejoice in the Lord with all my soul,
my soul will rejoice as long as it lives.
Bless the Lord, all his chosen ones:
all people, praise his greatness.
Fill your days with joy
and proclaim his glory.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
Praise the king of the ages in all your deeds.

Ps 32:1-22
| Psalm 32 (33)
|
Hora est iam vos de somno súrgere. Nox procéssit, dies autem appropiávit. Abiciámus ergo ópera tenebrárum et induámur arma lucis. Sicut in die honéste ambulémus.
|
You must wake up now: the night is almost over, it will be daylight soon. Let us give up all the things we prefer to do under cover of the dark; let us arm ourselves and appear in the light. Let us live decently as people do in the daytime.

℣. Deus meus, adiútor meus,* Et sperábo in eum. Deus meus.
℟. Refúgium meum et liberátor meus.* Et sperábo in eum. Glória Patri. Deus meus.

My helper is my God; I will place my trust in him.
– My helper is my God; I will place my trust in him.
He is my refuge; he sets me free.
– My helper is my God; I will place my trust in him.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
– My helper is my God; I will place my trust in him.

in domo David púeri sui,
sicut locútus est per os sanctórum,*
qui a sæculo sunt, prophetárum eius,
salútem ex inimícis nostris*
et de manu ómnium, qui odérunt nos;
in remissiónem peccatórum eórum,
per víscera misericórdiæ Dei nostri,*
in quibus visitábit nos óriens ex alto,
illumináre his, qui in ténebris et in umbra mortis sedent*
ad dirigéndos pedes nostros in viam pacis.
Glória Patri et Fílio*
et Spirítui Sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio et nunc et semper*
et in sǽcula sæculórum.
Amen.

The Messiah and his forerunnerThe Lord has raised up a mighty saviour for us, as he promised through the lips of his prophets.
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
for he has come to his people and brought about their redemption.
He has raised up the sign of salvation
in the house of his servant David,
as he promised through the mouth of the holy ones,
his prophets through the ages:
to rescue us from our enemies
and all who hate us,
to take pity on our fathers,
to remember his holy covenant
and the oath he swore to Abraham our father,
that he would give himself to us,
that we could serve him without fear
– freed from the hands of our enemies –
in uprightness and holiness before him,
for all of our days.
And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High:
for you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare his path,
to let his people know their salvation,
so that their sins may be forgiven.
Through the bottomless mercy of our God,
one born on high will visit us
to give light to those who walk in darkness,
who live in the shadow of death;
to lead our feet in the path of peace.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
The Lord has raised up a mighty saviour for us, as he promised through the lips of his prophets.

As Christians called to share the life of God, let us praise the Lord Jesus, the high priest of our faith.
– You are our Saviour and our God.
Almighty King, you have baptized us, and made us a royal priesthood:
may we offer you a constant sacrifice of praise.
– You are our Saviour and our God.
Help us to keep your commandments;
so that through your Holy Spirit we may dwell in you, and you in us.
– You are our Saviour and our God.
Everlasting Wisdom, come to us:
dwell with us and work in us today.
– You are our Saviour and our God.
Help us to be considerate and kind;
grant that we may bring joy, not pain, to those we meet.
– You are our Saviour and our God.
|
Pater noster, qui es in cælis:
sanctificétur nomen tuum;
advéniat regnum tuum;
fiat volúntas tua, sicut in cælo et in terra.
Panem nostrum cotidiánum da nobis hódie;
et dimítte nobis débita nostra,
sicut et nos dimíttimus debitóribus nostris;
et ne nos indúcas in tentatiónem;
sed líbera nos a malo.
| Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
|
Matutína súpplicum vota, Dómine, propítius intuére et occúlta cordis nostri remédio tuæ clarífica pietátis, ut desidéria tenebrósa non téneant, quos lux cæléstis grátiæ reparávit.
Per Dóminum nostrum Iesum Christum, Fílium tuum,
qui tecum vivit et regnat in unitáte Spíritus Sancti, Deus,
per ómnia sǽcula sæculórum.
Amen.
| Look with favour on our morning prayer, Lord,
and in your saving love
let your light penetrate the hidden places of our hearts.
May no sordid desires darken our minds,
renewed and enlightened as we are by your heavenly grace.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
|
Amen.
| The Lord bless us, and keep us from all evil, and bring us to everlasting life.
Amen.
