Universalis

Purchasing and licensing: bought from Google Play

You have said that you have bought the Universalis app from Google Play.

What you have

Android devices

The app you have bought from the Google Play Store will work on any Android device you possess, as long as it is one that has the Play Store app on it. This is Google Play’s policy. No payment or code is needed.

Installing on a new device

Universalis on the Kindle Fire and other Amazon devices.

Universalis on Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch).

Universalis on Mac or Windows.

Advice about subscriptions

Universalis itself does not need a monthly subscription. There are two cases in which a subscription is necessary:

  1. Some people get the free Catholic Calendar app instead of buying Universalis. They need to pay a small monthly subscription if they want to make Catholic Calendar behave just like Universalis.
  2. If you want to listen to spoken audio versions of the Mass readings or the Hours, that requires a monthly subscription. If you later decide you don’t want the spoken versions any more, you should cancel the subscription.

How to cancel a subscription

Google Play won’t let us cancel a subscription for you. It is something you have to do for yourself.

From within the Universalis or Catholic Calendar app

  1. Tap in the centre of the screen to make the toolbar appear.
  2. Tap on the "ⓘ" button on the left-hand side of the toolbar.
  3. In the menu that appears, tap on "Manage Subscriptions".

You will see a list of all possible subscriptions. Find the subscription you want to cancel, and tap on its name. That will take you to a page in Google Play where you can tell them that you want this subscription cancelled.

Directly through Google Play

You can either cancel through the Play Store app or through the Google Play web site. This Google Play support page has instructions for both methods.
