Come, Holy Ghost, Creator, come
from thy bright heav’nly throne.
Come, take possession of our souls
and make them all thine own.
Thou who art called the Paraclete,
blest gift of God above,
the living spring, the living fire,
sweet unction and true love.
Thou who art sev’nfold in thy grace,
finger of God’s right hand;
his promise, teaching little ones
to speak and understand.
O guide our minds with thy blest light,
with love our hearts in-flame;
and with thy strength, which ne’er decays
confirm our mortal frame.
Far from us drive our deadly foe,
true peace unto us bring;
and through all perils lead us safe
beneath thy sacred wing.
Through thee may we the Father know,
through thee th’eternal Son,
and thee the Spirit of them both,
thrice-blessèd Three in One.

Ps 131:1-10
| Psalm 131 (132)
|
Ps 131:11-18Iesus Christus solus potens, rex regum et Dóminus dominántium, allelúia.
11Iurávit Dóminus David veritátem*
et non recédet ab ea:
«De fructu ventris tui*
ponam super sedem tuam.
12Si custodíerint fílii tui testaméntum meum*
et testimónia mea, quæ docébo eos,
fílii eórum usque in sǽculum*
sedébunt super sedem tuam».
13Quóniam elégit Dóminus Sion,*
desiderávit eam in habitatiónem sibi:
«14Hæc réquies mea in sǽculum sǽculi;*
hic habitábo, quóniam desiderávi eam.
15Cibária eius benedícens benedícam,*
páuperes eius saturábo pánibus.
16Sacerdótes eius índuam salutári,*
et sancti eius exsultatióne exsultábunt.
17Illic germináre fáciam cornu David,*
parábo lucérnam christo meo.
18Inimícos eius índuam confusióne,*
super ipsum autem efflorébit diadéma eius».
Glória Patri et Fílio*
et Spirítui Sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio et nunc et semper*
et in sǽcula sæculórum.
Amen.
Iesus Christus solus potens, rex regum et Dóminus dominántium, allelúia.
| Psalm 131 (132)Jesus Christ is the only Ruler over all, the King of kings and Lord of lords. Alleluia.
The Lord swore David a true oath,
he will not go back on his word:
“The fruit of your body
I will place on your throne.
If your children keep my covenant and the commands I teach them,
their children’s children will occupy your throne for ever.”
For the Lord has chosen Zion,
taken it for his dwelling-place:
“Here will I take my rest for all time:
here will I live, such is my desire.
I will bless its crops with my blessing,
I will fill its poor with bread.
I will clothe its priests with righteousness.
Its chosen ones will exult with joy.
There will I plant the sign of David,
and prepare a lamp for my anointed one.
I will wrap his enemies in confusion,
but over his head my crown will shine.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
Jesus Christ is the only Ruler over all, the King of kings and Lord of lords. Alleluia.

De iudicio DeiQuis símilis tui in fórtibus, Dómine? quis símilis tui, magníficus in sanctitáte? allelúia.
et propter verbum testimónii sui;
et non dilexérunt ánimam suam*
usque ad mortem.
12Proptérea lætámini, cæli*
et qui habitátis in eis.
Glória Patri et Fílio*
et Spirítui Sancto.

The JudgementLord, who is your like, majestic in strength and holiness? Alleluia.
We thank you,
Lord God Almighty,
who are and who were,
that you have taken up your great power and begun to reign.
The nations were angered,
but your anger came, the time for the dead to be judged,
the time to reward the prophets and saints, your servants,
and those who feared your name, both great and small.
Now have come the salvation and might and kingdom of our God,
and the power of his Anointed,
for the accuser of our brethren has been brought down,
who accused them day and night in the sight of God.
But they vanquished him through the blood of the Lamb
and through their own witness.
They did not cling to life,
even in the face of death.
Therefore rejoice, heavens,
and you who dwell in them.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
Lord, who is your like, majestic in strength and holiness? Alleluia.

An nescítis quóniam corpus vestrum templum est Spíritus Sancti, qui in vobis est, quem habétis a Deo, et non estis vestri? Empti enim estis prétio! Glorificáte ergo Deum in córpore vestro.
|
Your body, you know, is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you since you received him from God. You are not your own property; you have been bought and paid for. That is why you should use your body for the glory of God.

℣. Spíritus Paráclitus,* Allelúia, allelúia. Spíritus.
℟. Docébit vos ómnia.* Allelúia, allelúia. Glória Patri. Spíritus.

The Holy Spirit is the Advocate, alleluia, alleluia.
– The Holy Spirit is the Advocate, alleluia, alleluia.
He will teach you everything.
– The Holy Spirit is the Advocate, alleluia, alleluia.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
– The Holy Spirit is the Advocate, alleluia, alleluia.

Exsultatio animæ in DominoCum vénerit ille Spíritus veritátis, docébit vos omnem veritátem, et quæ ventúra sunt annuntiábit vobis, allelúia.
Magníficat*
ánima mea Dóminum,
et exsultávit spíritus meus*
in Deo salvatóre meo,
dispérsit supérbos mente cordis sui;
depósuit poténtes de sede*
et exaltávit húmiles;
esuriéntes implévit bonis*
et dívites dimísit inánes.
Suscépit Israel púerum suum,*
recordátus misericórdiæ,
sicut locútus est ad patres nostros,*
Abraham et sémini eius in sǽcula.
Glória Patri et Fílio*
et Spirítui Sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio et nunc et semper*
et in sǽcula sæculórum.
Amen.

My soul rejoices in the LordWhen the Spirit of truth comes he will teach you the whole truth; he will reveal to you things that are to come. Alleluia.
My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God, my salvation.
For he has shown me such favour –
me, his lowly handmaiden.
Now all generations will call me blessed,
because the mighty one has done great things for me.
His name is holy,
his mercy lasts for generation after generation
for those who revere him.
He has put forth his strength:
he has scattered the proud and conceited,
torn princes from their thrones;
but lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things;
the rich he has sent away empty.
He has come to the help of his servant Israel,
he has remembered his mercy as he promised to our fathers,
to Abraham and his children for ever.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
When the Spirit of truth comes he will teach you the whole truth; he will reveal to you things that are to come. Alleluia.

Mitte in Ecclésiam Spíritum unitátis,
ut dissensiónes, ódia divisionésque auferántur.
– Dómine, réspice omnes, quos redemísti.
Qui hómines a possessióne dǽmonum liberásti,
líbera mundum a malis, quibus afflígitur.
Qui vivis in glória Patris,
in glóriam tuam voca defúnctos.
– Dómine, réspice omnes, quos redemísti.
|
Let us pray to Christ, who is blessed for ever. Let us ask him to send the Holy Spirit to those he has redeemed.
– Lord, protect those you have redeemed.
Send the Spirit of unity into your Church;
take away from us anger and dissension.
– Lord, protect those you have redeemed.
You freed men who were possessed by devils;
heal the sickness of our world.
– Lord, protect those you have redeemed.
By praying through the Holy Spirit, you found the inspiration for your ministry;
may priests discover through prayer how to follow the Holy Spirit and fulfil their life of service.
– Lord, protect those you have redeemed.
May your Spirit guide the rulers of all nations;
let them see your vision of peace and make it a reality.
– Lord, protect those you have redeemed.
You are living now in the glory of the Father;
call the faithful departed to share in your splendour.
– Lord, protect those you have redeemed.

Pater noster, qui es in cælis:
sanctificétur nomen tuum;
advéniat regnum tuum;
fiat volúntas tua, sicut in cælo et in terra.
Panem nostrum cotidiánum da nobis hódie;
et dimítte nobis débita nostra,
sicut et nos dimíttimus debitóribus nostris;
et ne nos indúcas in tentatiónem;
sed líbera nos a malo.
| Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
|
Spíritus tuus, quǽsumus, Dómine, spiritália nobis dona poténter infúndat, ut det nobis mentem, quæ tibi sit plácita, et aptet nos tuæ propítius voluntáti.
Per Dóminum nostrum Iesum Christum, Fílium tuum,
qui tecum vivit et regnat in unitáte Spíritus Sancti, Deus,
per ómnia sǽcula sæculórum.
Amen.
| Lord God,
let your Spirit come upon us in power
and fill us with his gifts,
to render our minds pleasing to you
and make us docile to your will.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
|
Amen.
| The Lord bless us, and keep us from all evil, and bring us to everlasting life.
Amen.
