Dómine, lábia mea apéries.
Et os meum annuntiábit laudem tuam.
| Lord, open our lips.
And we shall praise your name.

Christum Dóminum, qui Sanctum nobis promísit Spíritum, veníte, adorémus, allelúia.
(repeat antiphon*)
1Veníte, exsultémus Dómino;
iubilémus Deo salutári nostro.
2Præoccupémus fáciem eius in confessióne
et in psalmis iubilémus ei.
(repeat antiphon*)
3Quóniam Deus magnus Dóminus
et rex magnus super omnes deos.
4Quia in manu eius sunt profúnda terræ,
et altitúdines móntium ipsíus sunt.
5Quóniam ipsíus est mare, et ipse fecit illud,
et siccam manus eius formavérunt.
(repeat antiphon*)
(repeat antiphon*)
8Utinam hódie vocem eius audiátis:
«Nolíte obduráre corda vestra,
9sicut in Meríba secúndum diem Massa in desérto,
ubi tentavérunt me patres vestri:
probavérunt me, etsi vidérunt ópera mea.
(repeat antiphon*)
10Quadragínta annis tæduit me generatiónis illíus,
et dixi: Pópulus errántium corde sunt isti.
11Et ipsi non cognovérunt vias meas;
ídeo iurávi in ira mea:
Non introíbunt in réquiem meam».
(repeat antiphon*)
Glória Patri et Fílio*
et Spirítui Sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio et nunc et semper*
et in sǽcula sæculórum.
Amen.

Christ the Lord has promised us the Holy Spirit: come, let us adore him, alleluia.
(repeat antiphon*)
Come, let us rejoice in the Lord,
let us acclaim God our salvation.
Let us come before him proclaiming our thanks,
let us acclaim him with songs.
(repeat antiphon*)
For the Lord is a great God,
a king above all gods.
For he holds the depths of the earth in his hands,
and the peaks of the mountains are his.
For the sea is his: he made it;
and his hands formed the dry land.
(repeat antiphon*)
Come, let us worship and bow down,
bend the knee before the Lord who made us;
for he himself is our God and we are his flock,
the sheep that follow his hand.
(repeat antiphon*)
If only, today, you would listen to his voice:
“Do not harden your hearts
as you did at Meribah,
on the day of Massah in the desert,
when your fathers tested me –
they put me to the test,
although they had seen my works.”
(repeat antiphon*)
“For forty years they wearied me,
that generation.
I said: their hearts are wandering,
they do not know my paths.
I swore in my anger:
they will never enter my place of rest.”
(repeat antiphon*)
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
(repeat antiphon*)

* If you are reciting this on your own, you can choose to say the antiphon once only at the start of the psalm and not repeat it.
Optátus votis ómnium
sacrátus illúxit dies,
quo Christus, mundi spes, Deus,
conscéndit cælos árduos.
Magni triúmphum prœ́lii,
mundi perémpto príncipe,
Patris præséntans vúltibus
victrícis carnis glóriam,
In nube fertur lúcida
et spem facit credéntibus,
iam paradísum réserans
quem protoplásti cláuserant.
O grande cunctis gáudium,
quod partus nostræ Vírginis,
post sputa, flagra, post crucem
patérnæ sedi iúngitur.
Agámus ergo grátias
nostræ salútis víndici,
nostrum quod corpus véxerit
sublíme ad cæli régiam.
Sit nobis cum cæléstibus
commúne manens gáudium:
illis, quod semet óbtulit,
nobis, quod se non ábstulit.
Nunc, Christe, scandens ǽthera
ad te cor nostrum súbleva,
tuum Patrísque Spíritum
emíttens nobis cǽlitus. Amen.

Lord, God, your light which dims the stars
Awakes all things,
And all that springs to life in you
Your glory sings.
Your peaceful presence, giving strength,
Is everywhere,
And fallen men may rise again
On wings of prayer.
You are the God whose mercy rests
On all you made;
You gave us Christ, whose love through death
Our ransom paid.
We praise you, Father, with your Son
And Spirit blest,
In whom creation lives and moves,
And finds its rest.

Ps 85:1-17
| Psalm 85 (86)

Deus iudicabit in iustitia
Regem in decóre suo vidébunt óculi nostri, allelúia.
15Qui ámbulat in iustítiis*
et lóquitur æquitátes,
qui réicit lucra ex rapínis*
et éxcutit manus suas, ne múnera accípiat,
qui obtúrat aures suas, ne áudiat sánguinem,*
et claudit óculos suos, ne vídeat malum:
16iste in excélsis habitábit,*
muniménta saxórum refúgium eius;
panis ei datus est,*
aquæ eius fidéles sunt.
Glória Patri et Fílio*
et Spirítui Sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio et nunc et semper*

Regem in decóre suo vidébunt óculi nostri, allelúia.

The Lord will give just judgementOur eyes will see the King in his splendour. Alleluia.
Hear what I have done, you who are far off,
and you who are near, learn of my strength.
In Zion, the sinners are afraid;
the hypocrites tremble.
Which of you could live with a devouring fire?
Which of you will abide in everlasting burning?
He who walks in justice, he who speaks fairly –
he who rejects the spoils of robbery –
he who throws back a bribe –
he who blocks his ears against murderous counsels –
he who shuts his eyes against evil sights –
this is he who will dwell on high, secure in a fortress of rocks.
Bread is given to him; his supply of water is secure.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
Our eyes will see the King in his splendour. Alleluia.

Ps 97:1-9
| Psalm 97 (98)
|
|
We believe that having died with Christ we shall return to life with him: Christ, as we know, having been raised from the dead will never die again. Death has no power over him any more. When he died, he died, once for all, to sin, so his life now is life with God; and in that way, you too must consider yourselves to be dead to sin but alive for God in Christ Jesus.

℣. Surréxit Dóminus de sepúlcro,* Allelúia, allelúia. Surréxit.
|
The Lord has risen from the dead, alleluia, alleluia.
– The Lord has risen from the dead, alleluia, alleluia.
For our sake he died on the cross, alleluia, alleluia.
– The Lord has risen from the dead, alleluia, alleluia.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
– The Lord has risen from the dead, alleluia, alleluia.

in domo David púeri sui,
sicut locútus est per os sanctórum,*
qui a sæculo sunt, prophetárum eius,
salútem ex inimícis nostris*
et de manu ómnium, qui odérunt nos;
in remissiónem peccatórum eórum,
per víscera misericórdiæ Dei nostri,*
in quibus visitábit nos óriens ex alto,
illumináre his, qui in ténebris et in umbra mortis sedent*
ad dirigéndos pedes nostros in viam pacis.
Glória Patri et Fílio*
et Spirítui Sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio et nunc et semper*
et in sǽcula sæculórum.
Amen.

The Messiah and his forerunnerLet us thank God, who has given us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ, alleluia.
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
for he has come to his people and brought about their redemption.
He has raised up the sign of salvation
in the house of his servant David,
as he promised through the mouth of the holy ones,
his prophets through the ages:
to rescue us from our enemies
and all who hate us,
to take pity on our fathers,
to remember his holy covenant
and the oath he swore to Abraham our father,
that he would give himself to us,
that we could serve him without fear
– freed from the hands of our enemies –
in uprightness and holiness before him,
for all of our days.
And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High:
for you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare his path,
to let his people know their salvation,
so that their sins may be forgiven.
Through the bottomless mercy of our God,
one born on high will visit us
to give light to those who walk in darkness,
who live in the shadow of death;
to lead our feet in the path of peace.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
Let us thank God, who has given us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ, alleluia.

Spíritus Sanctus testimónium reddit spirítui nostro quod sumus fílii Dei. Ideo, Deo Patri grátias agéntes, orémus:
– Pater noster, audi fílios tuos.
Deus patiéntiæ et solácii, da nobis idípsum sápere in altérutrum secúndum Iesum Christum,
duc nos semper in via sinceritátis et veritátis.
– Pater noster, audi fílios tuos.

The Holy Spirit joins with our spirit in bearing witness that we are children of God. Let us give thanks to our heavenly Father.
– Father, hear your children.
God of patience and encouragement, grant that we may agree with one another by following the example of Christ;
united in mind and voice, let us glorify you.
– Father, hear your children.
Let each of us think of his brother’s good and strive to please him;
enable us to strengthen his faith.
– Father, hear your children.
Do not allow us to be led astray by the power of the Evil One;
fill us instead with the Spirit who comes from you.
– Father, hear your children.
Lord, you know everything that is in our hearts;
lead us in the ways of sincerity and truth.
– Father, hear your children.

Pater noster, qui es in cælis:
sanctificétur nomen tuum;
advéniat regnum tuum;
fiat volúntas tua, sicut in cælo et in terra.
Panem nostrum cotidiánum da nobis hódie;
et dimítte nobis débita nostra,
sicut et nos dimíttimus debitóribus nostris;
et ne nos indúcas in tentatiónem;
sed líbera nos a malo.
| Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
|
Amen.
| God of mercy,
you have gathered your Church together by the Holy Spirit.
Keep us devoted to your service
and united among ourselves.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Amen.
|
Amen.
| The Lord bless us, and keep us from all evil, and bring us to everlasting life.
Amen.
