Glória Patri et Fílio*

O God, come to our aid.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen. Alleluia.

Ternis horárum términis
volútis, dante Dómino,
trinum perfécte et únicum
ipsum devóti psállimus.
Sacrum Dei mystérium
puro tenéntes péctore,
Petri magístri régula
signo salútis pródita,
Et nos psallámus spíritu,
hæréntes sic apóstolis,
ut plantas adhuc débiles
Christi virtúte dírigant.
Deo Patri sit glória
eiúsque soli Fílio
cum Spíritu Paráclito,
in sempitérna sǽcula. Amen.

Eternal Father, loving God,
Who made us from the dust of earth,
Transform us by the Spirit’s grace,
Give value to our little worth.
Prepare us for that day of days
When Christ from heaven will come with might
To call us out of dust again,
Our bodies glorified in light.
O Godhead, here untouched, unseen,
All things created bear your trace;
The seed of glory sown in man
Will flower when we see your face.

Ps 125:1-6

Ps 126:1-5

Ps 127:1-5
| Psalm 127 (128)

Comméndat suam caritátem Deus in nos, quóniam, cum adhuc peccatóres essémus, Christus pro nobis mórtuus est. Multo ígitur magis iustificáti nunc in sánguine ipsíus, salvi érimus ab ira per ipsum!
|
What proves that God loves us is that Christ died for us while we were still sinners. Having died to make us righteous, is it likely that he would now fail to save us from God’s anger?
|
℣. Vulnerátus est propter iniquitátes nostras.
℟. Et eius livóre sanáti sumus.
| ℣. He was wounded for our sins.
℟. Through his wounds we are healed.
|
Oremus.
Concéde, quǽsumus, omnípotens Deus, ut, qui dilécti Fílii tui corde gloriántes, eius præcípua in nos benefícia recólimus caritátis, de illo donórum fonte cælésti supereffluéntem grátiam mereámur accípere.
Per Christum Dóminum nostrum.
Amen.
| Let us pray.
Almighty God and Father,
we glory in the Sacred Heart of Jesus, your beloved Son,
as we call to mind the great things his love has done for us.
Fill us with the grace that flows in abundance
from the Heart of Jesus, the source of heaven’s gifts.
Who lives and reigns for ever and ever.
Amen.
|
Benedicámus Dómino.
– Deo grátias.
| Let us praise the Lord.
– Thanks be to God.
