Glória Patri et Fílio*

O God, come to our aid.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen. Alleluia.

Hæc hora, quæ resplénduit
crucísque solvit núbila,
mundum ténebris éxuens,
reddens seréna lúmina.
Hæc hora, qua resúscitans
Iesus sepúlcris córpora,
prodíre mortis líbera
iussit refúso spíritu.
Nováta sæcla crédimus
mortis solútis légibus,
vitæ beátæ múnera
cursum perénnem cúrrere.
Iesu, tibi sit glória,
qui morte victa prǽnites,
cum Patre et almo Spíritu,
in sempitérna sǽcula. Amen.

Eternal Father, loving God,
Who made us from the dust of earth,
Transform us by the Spirit’s grace,
Give value to our little worth.
Prepare us for that day of days
When Christ from heaven will come with might
To call us out of dust again,
Our bodies glorified in light.
O Godhead, here untouched, unseen,
All things created bear your trace;
The seed of glory sown in man
Will flower when we see your face.

Gaudeámus et exsultémus et demus glóriam Deo, quia venérunt núptiæ Agni. Beáti, qui ad cenam nuptiárum Agni vocáti sunt!

Let us be glad and joyful and give praise to God, because this is the time for the marriage of the Lamb. Happy are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb!

Oremus.
Amen.
| Let us pray.
Proclaiming your glory, Lord,
we humbly ask that as Saint George imitated Christ in his passion,
so he may be a ready helper in our weakness.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
|
Benedicámus Dómino.
– Deo grátias.
| Let us praise the Lord.
– Thanks be to God.
