Commemoration of deceased clergy and religious of the Vicariate
on Monday of week 31 in Ordinary Time

Using calendar: Middle East - Southern Arabia. You can pick a diocese or region.

Come, let us adore the King for whom all men are alive.

Year: A(I). Psalm week: 3. Liturgical Colour: Violet or Black.

Commemoration of Deceased Clergy and Religious

On this day, the Church in southern Arabia remembers all the departed clergy and religious who have laboured in the vineyard of the Lord and worked for the spread of the Gospel in the Arabian Mission.

Liturgical colour: black (or violet)

Violet is the colour of penance, and black is (for most of us) the colour of mourning. One or the other is therefore used in Masses for the Dead and, in particular, on All Souls’ Day.

Mid-morning reading (Terce)2 Corinthians 13:11 ©
Brethren, be joyful. Try to grow perfect; help one another. Be united; live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.

Afternoon reading (None)Colossians 1:21-22 ©
Not long ago, you were foreigners and enemies, in the way that you used to think and the evil things that you did; but now he has reconciled you, by his death and in that mortal body. Now you are able to appear before him holy, pure and blameless.
