Jerusalem Bible edition - New American Bible edition
This book contains the readings at Mass according to the official lectionary of the Catholic Church, for every day of every year. Each and every reading is accompanied by an accessible and scholarly commentary by Dom Henry Wansbrough OSB.
“Reading and Reflection” is not intended for use in church. Rather, it takes the Lectionary as the basis for a systematic course of scripture reading, together with commentaries to deepen understanding and stimulate thought. It works equally well if you have been to Mass that day or haven’t; or whether or not you ever go to Mass at all.
The readings include the full 3-year cycle of Sunday readings and the full 2-year cycle of weekday readings.
Dom Henry Wansbrough, the author of the commentaries, is a monk of Ampleforth Abbey and a noted biblical scholar. He is the editor of the New Jerusalem Bible and the Revised New Jerusalem Bible. An introduction by Martin Kochanski sets the context of the readings and explains the logic of the liturgical year. Martin Kochanski is the creator and editor of Universalis and the author of “The Creed in Slow Motion”.
The Jerusalem Bible is used at Mass in most parts of the English-speaking world.

“Revelations of Divine Love” is the greatest work of spirituality ever written in English.
When its author, Julian of Norwich (1342-1416), was 30 years old, she received a series of sixteen visions of the Passion of Christ. She spent the next twenty years in meditation on them and in deep study of the theological vistas which they opened up. “Revelations of Divine Love” is the result. It presents the visions in all their physical detail; it contemplates the joy of the Passion and redemption from sin, the hidden depths of the Incarnation and the Motherhood of Christ. While reaching to the heights of heaven it keeps its feet firmly on the ground. It speaks with simplicity and directness, and it is ideal material for reading as a daily meditation.
This edition is an updating of Grace Warrack’s renowned adaptation of 1901, edited by Martin Kochanski. It preserves Julian’s language while replacing obsolete words and constructions. This makes it possible for Julian’s actual voice to be heard, while still making her comprehensible to the modern reader.
