Buying a registration code

If you have an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, you don't need to buy a registration code. Go to the iPhone App Store and buy the Universalis application from there. This gives you both the program and the daily email service, and it also means that you won't need to buy a registration code if you decide you want to use Universalis on your desktop or laptop computer as well.

Activating the downloaded Universalis programs

The program that you download and install from our site is the Catholic Calendar. It gives you a month's worth of sample pages, and that is all. To get the full Universalis functionality, you need to get a registration code and enter it into the program.

A registration code lasts for ever: you don't need a subscription, and program updates are free.

If you own several computers, you can probably use the same registration code for all of them. See the details.

Have you downloaded the program?
Have you installed it on your computer?
Have you tried it out?

Are you happy with its features?

Are you happy with the content it displays?

Are you happy with the translations it uses?

If the answer to all these questions is YES, please continue.

If you have answered NO to any question, please don't buy. We want to be happy with your purchase, and we want you to be sure that you're going to be happy before you buy.

Activating the daily email service

The same registration code that you buy to activate the Universalis programs will also activate the automatic daily email service. If the email service is the only thing you want, you don't need to download any software.

Buy now by credit card

A Universalis registration code costs £19.99. In June 2009 this was approximately $33 or €23. To ask Google for an up-to-date estimate, click on the numbers. The exchange rate your card company uses will be different, of course.

By clicking on the "Buy Now" button you certify that your answer to all the questions at the top of the page is YES.

The purchase process is safe and secure. Here are the details.

  1. Powered by FastCartThe Buy Now button will take you to a shopping system operated on our behalf by FastCart UK. This will ask for your name, address, and contact details.
  2. When you confirm that you want to make payment, you will be transferred to the WorldPay site. No-one outside WorldPay will see your credit card details, not even us. Your connection to WorldPay will be encrypted for additional security.
  3. You then enter the card details and any other information that the WorldPay system requires. Quite often, this procedure may include filling in an authentication page supplied by your own bank.
  4. As soon as payment has been authorised, you will receive an email confirming the transaction. You have not yet been charged.
  5. We check all transactions by hand. As soon as we have approved the transaction,
    1. We will generate a registration code for you.
    2. We will charge your credit card, as previously authorised. We can't take more or less than the amount you have authorised.
    3. We will send a registration code to you by email. The email message will have the subject "Your Universalis Registration Code" and it will come from
      universalis @ cardbox.com.
If you have a spam filter, please make sure that it does not block emails from this address.
    4. A full invoice for tax and accounting purposes will also be in that email.
Security: Note that your card details are stored within WorldPay's systems and we have no access to them. The only way we can get money out of you is by confirming the charge to your card that you originally requested and that your card company authorised. We are not able to request further charges on our own initiative.
Email filters: If you block emails from our address then you will not receive your registration code. If you notice this warning too late, first unblock the address and then send us an email asking us to re-send you your registration code.
  6. Once you have received the registration code, you can install it: follow the appropriate link on the left.

Our returns policy

Unlike physical goods, a registration code is intangible and there is no way of sending it back. The issue of a registration code is irrevocable and accordingly we cannot make refunds on it. This is why we are so insistent that you should check that the Universalis program is what you want before you even try to buy a code.

Still, people do make mistakes. If you really didn't mean to make a purchase then please contact us at once using the link at the bottom of the page, and explain what has happened.

If we haven't yet processed the transaction then we'll simply cancel it.

If we have already processed the transaction, then it's too late, but in truly exceptional circumstances we may agree to process a refund. We'd only do this if there was a genuine mistake, not because you decide you don't like the program (remember, you have certified that you have already tried it out and liked it). Refunds lose us money because of WorldPay's charges, and if you're outside the UK then exchange rates mean that you won't get back the exact amount that you originally paid.

Other methods of payment

Cheque

If you are within the UK then simply send us a cheque for £19.99. Let us know your name and address (for our records) and an email address we can send the registration code to.

There is nothing to stop you sending us a cheque from overseas as well, but it has to be in sterling and drawn on a UK bank. If you haven't got a UK bank account then your own bank will be able to produce a sterling cheque drawn on one of their correspondent banks in the UK, but they will charge you a great deal of money for this service.

Cash

It is well known that sending cash through the post is completely insecure. It may be stolen en route or the recipient may steal it and claim never to have received it. Nevertheless, given the huge volume of mail that goes through the international postal system you may decide that the risk is small and that you're willing to trust us. In that case go to your nearest bureau de change and get £20 in notes and post it to us, remembering to give us your name and address and your email address so that we know who you are.

Credit cards again

If you haven't got a suitable credit card then perhaps you have a friend who has. Remember that the whole payment process is secure and we never get to see your friend's card details. All we ask is that your friend should email us to tell us to put your details on our database instead of his own. Otherwise things will get difficult if you later forget your code and ask for it to be re-sent.
