O God, come to our aid.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son

Veníte, servi, súpplices,
et mente et ore extóllite
dignis beátum láudibus
nomen Dei cum cántico.
Hoc namque tempus illud est,
quo sæculórum iúdicem
iniústa morti trádidit
mortálium senténtia.
Et nos amóre débito,
timóre iusto súbditi,
advérsus omnes ímpetus
quos sævus hostis íncutit,
Unum rogémus et Patrem
Deum regémque Fílium
simúlque Sanctum Spíritum,

Lord God and Maker of all things,
Creation is upheld by you.
While all must change and know decay,
You are unchanging, always new.
You are man’s solace and his shield,
His Rock secure on which to build.
You are the spirit’s tranquil home,
In you alone is hope fulfilled.
To God the Father and the Son
And Holy Spirit render praise:
Blest Trinity, from age to age
The strength of all our living days.

The psalms of the day are shown here. If you are reciting more than one daytime hour (Terce, Sext, None) today, use the psalms of the day at one hour and the complementary psalms at the others.
Ps 118:17-24
| Psalm 118(119): 17-24He was put to death for our sins and raised to life to justify us, alleluia.
Be good to your servant, and I shall live
and keep to your teachings.
Uncover my eyes
and I shall see the wonders of your law.
My home is on the earth
but do not hide your commands from me.
My soul is weary with longing,
day and night, for your decrees.
You have rebuked the proud, they are accursed
because they turn from your commands.
Save me from scorn and contempt,
for I have kept your decrees.
Princes enthroned may speak against me,
but your servant will still follow your judgements.
For your decrees are my delight,
and your statutes are my counsellors.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Ps 29:2-6
| Psalm 29 (30)Lord, I will give you all praise, for you have rescued me
and not let my foes triumph over me.
My Lord God, I cried to you
and you healed me.
Lord, you led my soul out from the underworld,
gave me life so that I would not sink into the abyss.
Sing to the Lord, his holy ones,
and proclaim the truth of his holiness.
His anger lasts a moment,
but his favour for a lifetime.
At night there are tears,
but in the morning, joy.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Ps 29:7-137Ego autem dixi in securitáte mea:*
«Non movébor in ætérnum».
8Dómine, in voluntáte tua*
præstitísti decóri meo virtútem;
avertísti fáciem tuam a me,*
et factus sum conturbátus.
9Ad te, Dómine, clamábam*
et ad Deum meum deprecábar.
10Quæ utílitas in sánguine meo,*
dum descéndo in corruptiónem?
Numquid confitébitur tibi pulvis*
aut annuntiábit veritátem tuam?
11Audívit Dóminus et misértus est mei,*
Dóminus factus est adiútor meus.
12Convertísti planctum meum in choros mihi,*
conscidísti saccum meum et accinxísti me lætítia,
13ut cantet tibi glória mea et non táceat.*
Dómine Deus meus, in ætérnum confitébor tibi.
Glória Patri et Fílio*
et Spirítui Sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio et nunc et semper*
et in sǽcula sæculórum.
Amen.
Tráditus est propter delícta nostra et resurréxit propter iustificatiónem nostram, allelúia.
| Psalm 29 (30)Once I was secure. I said,
“I will never be shaken.”
Lord, by your
favour you had given me strength, set me high;
but then you turned your face from me
and I was shaken.
I cried to you, Lord,
and prayed to my God.
“What use is my life,
when I sink into decay?
Will dust proclaim you,
or make known your faithfulness?”
The Lord heard and took pity on me.
The Lord became my helper.
You have turned my weeping into dancing,
torn off my sackcloth and clothed me in joy,
It is my glory to sing to you and never cease:
Lord, my God, I will proclaim your goodness for ever.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
He was put to death for our sins and raised to life to justify us, alleluia.

God saved us by means of the cleansing water of rebirth and by renewing us with the Holy Spirit which he has so generously poured over us through Jesus Christ our saviour. He did this so that we should be justified by his grace, to become heirs looking forward to inheriting eternal life.

Oremus.

| Let us pray.
Lord God,
you have made one people
out of many different races and nations,
united through confessing the glory of your name.
They were born to new life in baptism:
let there be one faith in their hearts,
one love in their Christian way of life.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
|
Benedicámus Dómino.
– Deo grátias.
| Let us praise the Lord.
– Thanks be to God.
