O God, come to our aid.
O Lord, make haste to help us.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen. Alleluia.

Rerum, Deus, tenax vigor,
immótus in te pérmanens,
lucis diúrnæ témpora
succéssibus detérminans,
Largíre clarum véspere,
quo vita numquam décidat,
sed præmium mortis sacræ
perénnis instet glória.
Præsta, Pater piíssime,
Patríque compar Unice,
cum Spíritu Paráclito
regnans per omne sæculum. Amen.

Eternal Father, loving God,
Who made us from the dust of earth,
Transform us by the Spirit’s grace,
Give value to our little worth.
Prepare us for that day of days
When Christ from heaven will come with might
To call us out of dust again,
Our bodies glorified in light.
O Godhead, here untouched, unseen,
All things created bear your trace;
The seed of glory sown in man
Will flower when we see your face.
|
The psalms of the day are shown here. If you are reciting more than one daytime hour (Terce, Sext, None) today, use the psalms of the day at one hour and the complementary psalms at the others.
SPECIAL FOR TODAY: If you are celebrating Terce today, you must use the psalms of the day at Terce, and use the complementary psalms now.
Ps 118:121-128
| Psalm 118(119): 121-128Dying you destroyed our death, rising you restored our life. Save us by your cross, Christ our Redeemer.
I have lived in righteousness and justice:
do not hand me over to my oppressors.
Watch over the well-being of your servant:
do not let the proud oppress me.
My eyes are weary with waiting for your help
and for the fulfilment of your promises.
Treat your servant with your loving kindness
and teach me your statutes.
I am your servant, give me understanding
and knowledge of your decrees.
The time has come for the Lord to act:
people are ignoring your law.
And so I love your commandments
better than gold, purest gold.
And so I shall direct my life by your precepts:
I hate all deceptive ways.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

Ps 33:2-11
| Psalm 33 (34)
|
Ps 33:12-2312Veníte, fílii, audíte me:*
timórem Dómini docébo vos.
13Quis est homo, qui vult vitam,*
díligit dies, ut vídeat bonum?
14Próhibe linguam tuam a malo,*
Amen.
Per tuam crucem salva nos, Christe redémptor, qui mortem nostram moriéndo destruxísti et vitam resurgéndo reparásti.
| Psalm 33 (34)Come, children, listen to me:
I shall teach you the fear of the Lord.
Who is the man who desires life,
who wants to live long to enjoy good things?
Do not let your tongue speak evil:
let your lips not utter deceit.
Avoid evil, do good:
seek peace and follow it.
The eyes of the Lord are on the just
and his ears hear their cries;
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil:
he wipes their memory from the earth.
The just cried out, and the Lord listened
and freed them from all their many troubles.
The Lord is close to the broken-hearted:
the crushed in spirit he will save.
Many are the troubles of the just,
but the Lord will free them from all of them.
He will protect all their bones:
not one will be broken.
Their own evil destroys sinners:
those who hate the just will be punished.
The Lord will redeem the souls of his servants:
those who put their hope in him will not be punished.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.
Dying you destroyed our death, rising you restored our life. Save us by your cross, Christ our Redeemer.
|
At the daytime hours (Terce, Sext, None) when you don’t choose to use the psalms of the day, use the complementary psalms instead.
Ps 125:1-6
| Psalm 125 (126)
|
Ps 126:1-5
| Psalm 126 (127)
|
Ps 127:1-5
| Psalm 127 (128)
|
Non corruptibílibus argénto vel auro redémpti estis de vana vestra conversatióne a pátribus trádita, sed pretióso sánguine quasi Agni incontamináti et immaculáti Christi.
|
Remember, the ransom that was paid to free you from the useless way of life your ancestors handed down was not paid in anything corruptible, neither in silver nor gold, but in the precious blood of a lamb without spot or stain, namely Christ.
|
℣. Hoc signum crucis erit in cælo.
℟. Cum Dóminus ad iudicándum vénerit.
| ℣. This sign of the cross will appear in the heavens.
℟. When the Lord will come as judge.
|
Oremus.
Deus, qui Unigénitum tuum crucem subíre voluísti, ut salvum fáceret genus humánum, præsta, quǽsumus, ut, cuius mystérium in terra cognóvimus, eius redemptiónis prǽmia in cælo cónsequi mereámur.
Per Christum Dóminum nostrum.
Amen.
| Let us pray.
God our Father,
in obedience to your will
your Only-Begotten Son endured the cross for our salvation.
Grant that as we have come to know the mystery of the cross here on earth,
we may receive its rewards in heaven.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
|
Benedicámus Dómino.
– Deo grátias.
| Let us praise the Lord.
– Thanks be to God.
